Great weekend here! The complimentary breakfast was hot, fresh, and restocked before it was gone. I would rate breakfast 5/5. Also enjoyed dinner at the hotel on a Saturday night and would rate 4/5 for the that. The food was great with great presentation but I think it’s a little over priced. The room was good. I wish the bathroom had a fan instead of a night light. Water pressure was good and had enough hot water for 3 of us to shower back to back. The door jam to the room was loose and not very secure and the door to the balcony was also lose. That’s why I rated 4/5.
You can't get any closer to the ocean than this. No parking lot or pool between you and it if you get an oceanfront room. Good bed, clean room, balcony with chairs, friendly staff. Came right before Thanksgiving 2017, beaches blissfully quiet. We asked for late checkout & were given it without problem. There is construction next door which you can hear if they're running machines - don't know how long it will last. Best price on choice hotel website when I booked if you have AAA. Room was nice. Breakfast was pretty good considering it's a free hotel breakfast with enough variety that you can feed a picky eater. Staff was very friendly. You can't pass an employee in the hall without a greeting. 4 stars is because the WiFi is terrible slow and we had some work to do on our mini vacation. The only major issue was people not having their dog on a leash but that's not the hotel's fault. People just need to be better people.
Staff is awesome and more than willing to accommodate you in any way possible. Sure, you can get a hotel with fancier amenities but then you'll have to pay for that too. This is a simple, basic hotel for families looking to not spend all their money on lodging. The breakfast is big, coffee and tea available all day, mini fridge and microwave, and house keeping is on it! We would recommend this to any family traveling on a budget. Great experience for us!!!
The hotel is located right in the beach in Kill Devil Hills, NC. We went in December and stayed 5 nights for $250 (Off season plus a 20% discount for four or more night stay). The hotel is a bit aged (cracks on the balcony, our towel rack in the bathroom fell off the wall) it was perfect for our family of four. We stayed in a room with two full size beds and an ocean view (upgraded simply by asking). The staff was very friendly and there was free breakfast every day. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, fruit, huice, cereal, waffles, toast, muffins, bagels, cream cheese and jelly. Our room had cable, a mini fridge, and a small coffee pot. There is an outdoor pool opened during the warmer months, laundry on site, a bar, a store (with essentials only) and direct beach access. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to any family traveling with a budget. It is a budget hotel and not as fancy as many we've stayed at. If their prices increase, we will stay somewhere newer.
