One of my favorite places to eat in the Outer Banks. A small local hangout with a great bar and unique good food.
I'm visiting from Ohio. Best place we've been too. I had the coconut shrimp and it was fantastic. Highly recommend going if you're in the area. Service was fast and friendly.

We ate out side on the patio since we had our dog. They don't do service outside so you have to go in and order at the bar but they will bring it out for you in Togo boxes that you can eat out of outside. The drinks were good and food was good nice sized portions. We had the fish tacos blackened and the pork plate. Would come again.
Mama Kwan's offers the friendlines of a family-kitschy dive with menu that's worth the drive. It is an epicenter of contrasts, where an attorney can have a quick lunch or a surfer can sample tapas while he or she waits for the tide to change. The feel is energetic yet comfortable and is accommodating to all. The food is light but filling, crowd-pleasing yet inspired, and is always fresh and appealing to all of the senses. By now you must know that this review is not objective-- I confess it: I'm a fan! We have been taking our friends from out of town here ever since the kids were in elementary school and nobody has ever been disappointed. The only caveat is the summertime wait for seating, which is a(n?) ubiquitous Outer Banks characteristic of all good eating establishments.
